There is a very special anniversary coming up here at LwT HQ. I won’t say what it is just yet, but Intern Moo wanted to give you a hint:
As the weather turns from Summer to Fall, it’s time to get busy for the holidays and grow/sew more fabric mushroom topiaries! I almost sold out of these babies at last weekend’s World Maker Faire in Queens, but that very same faire provided me with a wad of new fabrics to build with. Can’t wait to create!
Whoa, it’s been quite a beginning to the year! Doll making, mushroom topiary sprouting and animal pun greeting card writing here at the studio is in full swing. So much sewing, cutting, folding, and scoring, with no end in sight, and it’s awesome. New dolls have been designed, new art prints have been conjured, new products on the horizon, and it seems that with all this creative energy whirling around, something is gonna fall through the cracks. That something, it turns out, is updates! The Life with Tigers shop is due for an update. I have a new chihuahua doll design, new greeting cards and fantastic new topiaries to share, as well as a few surprises in store. So stay tuned!
Hooray! One of our most favorite events is almost here! The 8th Annual Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn is happening this weekend, June 23 and 24, 2012. This year it is being held at the East River State Park, right on the Williamsburg waterfront! And Life with Tigers and Ink & Sword are in Booth 199, right smack in the middle of the action! Woo hoo!
Here are the particulars:
East River State Park at N. 8th St. and Kent Ave
Take the L train to Bedford Avenue. Walk west on N. 8th Street for three and half blocks to Kent Avenue.
11am – 7pm
300+ indie makers!
Food, music, Manhattan view, great forecast, workshops and things to make!
Hope to see you there! When the smoke clears, I’ll have a post-fair wrap up, which shall be totally cool, because it will include several fairs we’ve done in the last few weeks and months! Stay tuned.
This weekend, Life with Tigers and Ink & Sword will be sharing a space at the BUST Magazine Craftacular at The Seed in New York City. There will be goodies and food from animal and eco-friendly vendors, plus lectures, workshops, food tastings from NYC restaurants, high-quality crafts from cruelty-free vendors and other general awesomeness! Here are the particulars:
Saturday, June 16 – Sunday, June 17, 2012
82 Mercer St. between Broome and Spring, New York, NY
And don’t forget that Sunday is Father’s Day. Why not take dad to a unique event that celebrates compassion, creativity, and the vegan lifestyle. Think of it as “Veganpalooza”
Right about now, I should be posting a review of the two most recent craft shows we have appeared at. Perhaps, even post the photos I’ve prepared for such a post. That would be prudent, but instead, I am going to post a video of Production Manager Shadow after he woke up with his favorite Severed Leg Catnip Toy in his mouth. Seems only logical.
This weekend in Brooklyn, Ink & Sword (our sibling shop) will be vending at the Gowanus County Fair (also known as the Lyceum Spring Marketplace). Apparently, there will be Batman Combat for Kids there, which obviously sounds awesome! I will be the official “booth helper”!
This all happens at The Brooklyn Lyceum at 227 4th Avenue in Brooklyn on May 5th & 6th from 11am to 6pm.
A bit of trivia,? The Lyceum was a bathhouse from 1910-1937. This is great, because I am a big fan of bathing.
Tomorrow, Saturday, April 14th, Life with Tigers will be at the Bust Magazine Craftacular and Food Fair. From 11am to 7pm, we will be meeting and greeting, selling legs and other goodies, sneaking snacks and beer while listening to music in an awesome space at 82 Mercer Street (between Broome and Spring) in Soho, New York City. 100 handmade craft and specialty food vendors will be there, and admission is only $3. Sweeeeeeet!
We will be at table #110, and will be sharing our space with Ink and Sword, purveyors of fine art prints. Sadly, the feline staff will not be in attendance…all in an effort to keep cat hair out of your artisan coffee.
Hooray! One of our favorite notecard designs has made it’s way back into the shop! These cards have been available for sale exclusively at art fairs, but why not share the love? Shut down your Facebook page and say hello to old friends the old fashioned way…with an awesome handwritten note in your own chicken scratch!
